Fun Time!
So much fun putting this together with my daughter and granddaughter. Read the instructions first! The icing bag didn't hold up, so we had to use a knife for some of it. We didn't eat any of it, because many of the candies rolled on the floor, but it looked good enough to eat!

Super cute fun kit.
My son loved this kit, he and his father put it together and it was a great bonding moment. Sadly the dog got on the table while we were out looking at Christmas lights, and ate it.

Not a all in one kit! You will need some extra STIFF ICING, NOT THE ONE THAT COMES WITH IT!
I am an experienced Ginger Bread house builder and decorator. That said, I ordered for my Christmas Village. I make my own icing using Wilton Meringue powder, The Royal icing Recipe. The plastic tray is very thin I wouldn't use it, too unstable! Buy a Wilton Cake Board to put it on. Cover the board with a layer of icing and let it dry for a day. Use an icing knife and make it look like snow. The main thing about building with ginger bread is, that it takes time! While your board is drying prepare your ginger bread pieces. They break easy so be careful, If you happen to break a piece just use your icing like glue and repair it. You will never notice it when it's decorated! I used a serrated steak knife to saw at the lines so they come apart easily. Now lay out your pieces so you know what goes together. Put enough icing in a decorator bag with a medium tip and connect the pieces that you have carefully separated! Put them in a safe place to dry completely before you try to put your train on your snow board that has dried for a day! Use liberal amounts of icing to connect the train to the board! Now bring in the kids after it has all dried for at least a day! Use your colored icings, and candy now! Have a ton of fun with your children! All that said I would not eat it, I tasted a bit of the gingerbread and it's not very tasty! All that sugar in the icing is not good for anyone! YOUNG OR OLD!!!! I hopes this helps you! I have read all the terrible reviews this kit has received and I want you to know this is not a Quick project!!! Like anything worthwhile you get what you put in it. Merry Christmas to all!

Not good for novices like me.
I had never done this before, but I'm pretty crafty usually. Everything was intact when I got it and I was going to do it with our 5 year old. First, when I broke off each piece, 2 of the cookies broke so we had to sit and try to use icing to glue it back. Then I found the instructions to be a little confusing so I pulled up the video from their website to see. They didn't have the exact same pieces as we did! It was difficult and the final product was messy, and our child got bored and didn't want to do it anymore.Note that after the structure is complete it is "glued/iced" to the tray, which makes decorating things like the wheels, etc. very VERY difficult.

It did not come out perfectly but my son and I did a pretty good job
I have a two year old train fanatic so you can only imagine his reaction when this arrived in the mail! I have never built any kind of gingerbread figure so I was a little intimidated. It did not come out perfectly but my son and I did a pretty good job. The directions were clear, the cookies were not broken at all, the stand that was included helped us figure out which piece goes where. I will order it again next holiday season for sure! And I am certain it will come out better as well! Great little tradition I'm starting with my son. Thank you Create a Treat!

Impossible to put together
Do not buy unless you want to ruin Christmas! Had this last year from a different seller and was a NIGHTMARE to put together but my son loved the finished product so I bought through Amazon this time thinking maybe better through different seller. I had to use Gorilla Glue—A LOT— just to even get it to sort of stay together. Absolute nightmare. Terrible terrible terrible product. After hours of drying with gorilla glue it STILL fell apart once we tried decorating it. DO NOT BUY

Fun for the whole family!
This was a great kit! We built this train with my 5 & 3 year old kids. It was very easy and fun for everyone. I read some of the more critical reviews so I was weary to make the purchase, but now I'm glad I did. The whole thing took 1 hour and now the train looks great! I will be on the look out for more kits from this manufacturer!

Kit needs improvement
The train does not assemble very nicely. First you're expected to snap apart the pieces with your hands. They should break along the indentations. Nope. I needed a knife with light pressure in the indentations and even then we had a couple of mishaps. The icing is tacky at best. I used gobs and gobs and still had pieces fall off after drying. The icing bag cannot handle the pressure of squeezing the icing through the tip. It eventually started splitting apart at the edges with icing flowing out everywhere. Not a lot of candy included either.
