Hobart N50-60 5 Quart Commercial Countertop Planetary Stand Mixer, Heavy Duty, 3 Speeds, Gray

Purchased October 28, 2024. Stopped working December 18, 2024. Seems like it sheared a geared or pinion in the housing. Says its not eligible for return...broken $4500 mixer.

I have a vintage model of this N-50 from 1947 that I purchased at an estate sale in the Chicago area in the late 1980's. it worked perfectly when we got it, and we used it for over 25 years in our home kitchen. I completely disassembled and rebuilt this machine over 20 years ago in order to repaint it, and that is why I say it is easy to service, and super heavy duty. There was no weak link in the construction of this mixer. Right now, I am rebuilding it again, because the paint I used the first time did not hold up well. This time it is getting painted with a 2-part urethane automotive product, somewhat close to the original color. There is still no wear and tear on any of the drive mechanism of the motor. This was by far the best $20 I ever spent.

This is the most intelligent craft of the gods that I possess in my house. The RPM’s of the mixer has allowed me to whip cream at atom-splitting speed. I have mixed things so thoroughly and powerfully, that I end up using this beast to mix differing foods such as bananas and potatoes. It has allowed me to explore undiscovered flavors, the likes of which mankind can barely process with all 5 senses.10/10 product, highly recommend.
